Franchisee, Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Darren joined The Mortgage Shop in 2006 after several successful years building his financial services expertise with Prudential, in a role that provided tailored financial solutions on Annuities, Investments and Lifetime Mortgages. By 2007 he was a TMS franchisee in Carrickfergus and then opening up a further branch in his hometown of Ballyclare the same year. Proud of his roots, he helped form a local football team, Ballyclare North End in 2005; then in 2010 he was elected by fellow local businesses as their President of the Ballyclare Chamber of Trace & Commerce, a role that Darren dedicated much of his time to.
Darrens’ strengths are welcoming clients with a smile and quickly putting you at ease to establish your goals and deliver these in the friendliest of ways.
He has 2 children who attend local schools and what Darren doesn’t know about Ballyclare isn’t worth knowing, ensuring you are well cared for throughout the home buying process.
“As first time buyers my fiance and I didn’t have a clue about the house buying process! Darren was recommended to us by a family member and we are so glad we took their advice!! Darren made the whole process so stress-free and exciting and looked after all the little details for us. He takes you through everything step by step and answers any questions you have, no matter how small they are. We now can’t wait to move into our new home! Thanks again Darren, highly recommended!”
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
I started off my career in financial services with Santander back in 1999 were I spent 6 years. For my progression I left to join The Mortgage Shop in July 2005 to work as a broker as I believed I could help more people this way by offering a wider range of services. After 13 successful years in our head office in Great Victoria street I have taken up a new challenge and moved to another highly successful office in Ballyclare to work alongside Darren Black.
“In the last five years, we have bought two homes with the sage advice and tireless efforts of Fiona Hannah. And we are tricky customers – both self- employed and our first home in negative equity! Fiona has been outstanding from start to finish. When we first met her she give us a list of things we needed to do within the year if we wanted to buy our second home. It worked. No obstacle (and there were many) was insurmountable. Four years later, we wanted to buy our forever home and could not wait to engage Fiona again. This time she turned us around in six months – and we move into our dream forever home in four weeks. We are both still self -employed and our first home is still in negative equity, but Fiona knows everything inside out and knows how to make anything work. She is incredible. If you want to get the job done, and are happy to hear some tough advice when needed, she is the very woman. I could not recommend her skill and service highly enough. Thank you Fiona!”
